My name is Joseph Grijalva, an enthusiastic graphic designer currently based in El Paso, open to full time roles, remote or relocating.

Before I earned my degree in design, I started pursuing a mechanical engineering degree. That all changed with the help of one engineering class specifically: Graphic Design. However, this class was different, it dealt with CAD and 3D modeling, and I fell in love with the concept of problem solving, creative thinking and putting in the long hours to figuring out what a design needed to be successful. I felt the passion for creating and decided to make a drastic change and pursue the path of Graphic Design specifically focusing on User Experiences.

I earned my BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design from UTEP, with minors in marketing and painting. While pursuing this degree, I earned multiple recognitions for my projects, placing them in local exhibitions and top contender positions for local companies in El Paso, as well as earning UTEP's Outstanding Designer award.

While pursuing to begin my career in Graphic Design, I have been working on my family's pecan farm as well as local farms in the area, which has been its own kind of design education. Having to problem solve and be creative, day to day while working when everything and anything can happen, you figure out what will work and what will not. That habit as well as following strict deadlines and putting in the hard work to achieve them follows me into the studio, flowing into my art and design.

Outside of work I'm usually enjoying my time outdoors fishing, camping, off-roading, or just walking around looking at signage and packaging and quietly rebranding it in my head. When I'm not outdoors, I'm inside cooking a new recipe or leveling another alt on World of Warcraft.
